WHY MISHLOACH MANOT
While Purim's simplest explanation as "Jewish Halloween," isn't entirely misleading (costumes and imbibing are both customary), the holiday's themes of friendship, charity and spirit ought not be overlooked.
The Book of Esther refers to three Purim mitzvot:
1. Eating of a Purim meal,
2. Sending a gift of two different ready-to eat foods to (at least) one friend,
3. Giving charity of food or money.
We've prepared these gift baskets to enable you to safely complete the second mitzvah, sending of portions (mishloach manot).
